BES870 first flush
Wash the removable accessories by hand, fit the prepared water filter and fill the tank to MAX. Once the machine reaches standby, the first-use sequence flushes the group head with 2 CUP, then the steam wand and hot-water outlet. The manual gives the timing and repetition for this initial rinse.
The flashing cleaning light
For a flashing CLEAN / DESCALE light, the cleaning setup uses the 1 CUP basket, cleaning disc and one tablet. With a full tank and empty drip tray, the powered-off machine starts that cycle by holding 1 CUP, 2 CUP and POWER together for about ten seconds.
