Double-pressing the button activates Coffee Creations mode for a more concentrated extraction intended for ice or milk. It is useful because a normal long pour can taste thin once ice begins melting. It does not add a chiller: the coffee still brews hot, and the final balance depends on capsule, ice, and milk.
The compact claim needs a tape measure
The official footprint is 8.6 by 14 inches, with a height of 10.4 inches and weight of 7.9 pounds. Width is excellent. Depth is ordinary, and the rounded head still needs clearance to open. Measure from the wall to the counter edge, then include room to lift the lever and remove the side tank.
The adjustable cup support helps with espresso cups and ordinary mugs, but the short machine body limits tall glassware. Removing the support creates extra room while giving drips less protection. Bring the mug you use most to the counter before the return window closes.

The standard US Pop+ holds 25.4 fluid ounces. In practical terms, three 8-ounce coffees nearly empty it before cleaning water is counted. The used-capsule bin holds roughly eight espresso capsules or five mug capsules. That capacity matches a one- or two-person routine. In a busy kitchen, the “small machine” creates more frequent tank and bin handling than a larger VertuoPlus.
What the connected features actually do
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi let the machine receive updates and send maintenance status through the Nespresso app. Pairing is useful during setup and when the machine needs clearer guidance than its single illuminated button can provide. It is not a remote brewer, and a phone is not required to make the normal morning cup.
That distinction matters. The best interface on this machine is still the physical button. Treat connectivity as firmware and troubleshooting support, not as the reason to buy it. Vertuo capsules are not interchangeable with Nespresso Original capsules. That lock-in simplifies automatic brewing but narrows third-party choice. If open coffee selection and low cost per cup are priorities, a small drip brewer or AeroPress is the more flexible purchase.
Cleaning is simple, but skipping it shows
Open the head after brewing so the used capsule drops into the bin. The recurring cautions are more revealing than the score. Capsules feel expensive to some owners, the high-speed extraction is audible, and app setup is not universally smooth.
